About Levine Advocacy

Levine Advocacy is a boutique firm built for clients who want more than “file and fight.” We’re solutions-based, strategic, and candid—focused on getting you to the best possible outcome with the least possible disruption.

Philosophy

Holistic doesn’t mean soft. It means thorough.

A strong legal strategy considers more than statutes and deadlines. It accounts for leverage, finances, business realities, reputation, relationships, timing, and stress. Our job is to understand the full landscape, then guide you

through it with insight and focus.

What we value

Bio

Lani Levine, Founder

Elana R. “Lani” Levine is a seasoned litigator who brings deep experience across complex disputes. She is known for practical strategy, powerful writing, and calm-but-strong advocacy—particularly when clients are navigating high-stress situations where both legal and real-world consequences are at stake.

Licensed since 2004, Lani brings more than two decades of experience handling complex civil litigation matters across a broad range of industries. Over the course of her career, she has litigated hundreds of representative and class actions and has helped secure numerous multi-million-dollar results on behalf of her clients.

Known for her strategic, practical approach, Lani represents individuals, professionals, and businesses in employment, business, and civil disputes, as well as matters involving entertainment, trademark, copyright, breach of contract, and real estate issues. Her work frequently involves cutting-edge disputes affecting some of the most recognizable figures in music, social media, and the entertainment industry, where legal strategy must account not only for legal exposure but also reputational and business realities.

Lani is also a frequent contributor to legal publications and regularly speaks on emerging developments and real-world legal and social issues, including cutting-edge matters affecting workplaces, businesses, and consumers. She has served as lead class counsel in numerous representative and class actions that have helped change employment practices and policies at major companies operating throughout the country. Her extensive experience handling workplace disputes has made her a trusted advisor to clients navigating matters involving wage-and-hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual assault in the workplace. In addition to litigation, she counsels clients on pre-dispute strategy, contract issues, and risk assessment to help prevent disputes before they escalate.

Her cases and/or writing have been recognized and featured in publications including the Los Angeles Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, TMZ, Daily Journal, The Advocate, The Forum, The Verdict, Law360, Business Insider, and various other industry publications.

Lani earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in three years, graduating at age 20, before teaching second grade in South Central Los Angeles. She later received her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School through its accelerated two-year SCALE program. She is admitted to practice before all California federal district courts—the Central, Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts—as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Committed to the profession beyond her own practice, Lani mentors law students and less experienced attorneys. She is also a Master of the Inns of Court, a lifetime appointment in an organization recognizing professionalism, civility, ethics, and excellence in advocacy.
